What is Micro-blading?

1
  • Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new, manual method. It is considered to be semi-permanent, as compared to the traditional hair stroke technique. It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we’re impacting color closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no “spilling” under the skin. This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. People suffering from alopecia, trigonometrical or any other condition that causes hair loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as people who simply aren’t happy with their eyebrows. The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow. Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two-week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.

Does it hurt?

2
  • Anesthetics (Numbing Cream) are used for your comfort. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable, whereas other clients report no discomfort at all.

What will the color look like after Microblading?

  • Permanent makeup colors should be selected to compliment a person’s skin tone, hair, and eye color. A conservative approach is best because it is easier to make an existing color darker versus lighter in your follow-up appointment. Colors will always look darker and more intense immediately following a procedure (up to three days) then on the fourth day, they will lighten at least 40- 50%. Then over the next four week, the color will gradually lighten and soften. Please allow 6 weeks BEFORE you have your touch-up treatment.

Is it Permanent?

3
  • It is semi-permanent. Microblading can last anywhere between 12-18 months depending on skin types and how well your skin retains the pigments. It will eventually fade over time and a retouch is required to renew

What to expect after the treatment

4
5
  • Immediately after, the area will be EXTREMELY dark and get darker over the next 2 days as a scab forms in the area. 30-50% of your pigment will be in the scabs. Over the next 7-14 days your scabs should flake off bit by bit. Some people scab in light flakes and some develop a thick scab. Everybody is different, but whatever you do, do NOT pick at the scabs and make sure you read through and follow the AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS properly to obtain the best results. If the scabbing phase is not over by 14 days, please continue your Aftercare instructions until scabs are completely gone. After the scabbing phase is over, you will see that the color of your pigment appears foggy and muted in color because a layer of skin has grown over the pigment to seal it in. Not to worry, over the next several weeks your skin will regenerate, and the pigment will be more vibrant in color. The complete healing process takes at least 6 weeks which is when the true orientation of the pigment will show. For most people, there shouldn’t be too much of a problem going to work or being out in public, as long as you’re good at following aftercare instructions. However, some people may develop thicker scabs and have minor swelling. You may take an Advil or apply an icepack after your treatment to reduce swelling and discomfort.

Results

6
7
  • Results are extremely dependent on how one heals and will vary with each individual client. Some people at times have a resistant skin type where the ink doesn’t like to take. You may need more than one touch up if you are one of the few that fall into this category. Successful results are not guaranteed (especially on those with problematic skin) and additional sessions, at a minimum charge, may be required to obtain desired results. Although I use premium products and provide quality services, every client heals differently, and many factors can lead to varied results. I do not guarantee perfect proportions or symmetry as some bone structures and muscle movements do not call for it. The final shape is completely your decision, and tattooing will not start until you decide on the final shape. All services provided are non-refundable.

Touch up

9
  • You will receive one free touch-up appointment, which must be booked no sooner than 6 weeks and no later than 10 weeks after your first session. You will lose your free touch-up if you choose to cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment and a minimum charge will apply for rescheduling. If you choose to book your touch-up after 10 weeks, there will be a minimum charge. This touch-up appointment is strongly recommended to achieve desired results. Additional touch-up appointments will be charged depending on the timeframe after your initial appointment.

Who should Avoid Microblading?

10

You may not do this procedure if:

  • You are under 18

  • You get Keloid scars

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • You have been on Accutane within 1 year of the procedure.

  • Diabetic

  • Have HIV or Hepatitis or any other viral infections and/or diseases

  • Undergoing Chemotherapy

  • Epilepsy

  • A Pacemaker or major heart problems

  • Had an organ transplant

  • Sick (cold, flu, etc. Will affect the healing process, please reschedule)

  • You have irritation of the skin of any kind such as blemishes, pimples, rash, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, sunburn on the area of procedure.

  • You are on Retin-A or Retinols. Be off 7 days before appointment and avoid 30 days after

Before & Aftercare

11
12
14
  • It is very important that you follow these instructions carefully for optimum results:

- No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before application.

- Do not work out 24 hours before application (body heat expands the pores). It is recommended not to sweat (heavily) for the first 10-14 days after the procedure. Sweat is salt and will prematurely fade, blur or cause the pigment not to take at all.

- Avoid sun/ tanning/burning 4 weeks prior and 4 weeks after procedure as it will affect results.

- Do not take Aspirin, Advil, Aleeve, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before application.

- Do not take fish oil for 2 weeks prior to application.

- No brow waxing or tinting one week before application (let your brow hair grow out for as long as you can stand it).  After two weeks from each session, you may resume brow waxing, tweezing or tinting.

- No Botox for at minimum of 3 weeks prior to your application and 3 weeks after.

- No Accutane for 1 year prior to application.- No chemical peels 60 days before and 60 days after (if you do, the brows will fade quicker due to Retinols/Retin-A's, other anti-aging creams or serums containing acids that fade your permanent makeup prematurely even after it has healed).

- Please note: You will be more sensitive if you have fibromyalgia or are on your menstrual cycle.- Smoking will cause the pigment to fade prematurely and anesthetics will not last as long.- You may wear makeup to the appointment. Your brows will be cleaned and sanitized prior to starting the procedure

AFTERCARE:

- NOTE: Everyone’s skin heals differently and most clients develop patchy areas or the appearance of fading after the first treatment.  It is important to understand that this is a two part process and the second touch up treatment will complete the procedure and, after healing, you will see the finished result.

-- Brows will appear dark & thick after treatment especiall on Day 2; after 7 days brows will become 40% lighter and 10-15% thinner.

FIRST 24 HOURS: Keep aftercare gel on (do no touch or wash)

DAY 1: remove the aftercare gel by wiping off gently with a wet cotton round and sterile water (boil water and let it cool). Repeat cleaning as needed for the next two weeks (3-5x a day). Make sure brows are clean and dry for the first two weeks after the procedure.

DAY 3: if skin feels itchy, you may apply 100% organic argan oil with clean q-tip to brows after cleaning (avoid petroleum jelly during the healing period. Anything with a petroleum base can cause a reaction, crusting, scabbing and sweating so the skin is not able to breathe)

DAY 7-14: Exfoliation of the top layer of the brow is normal from day 4-7; new skin forming causes the area to appear lighter at first during this period of time. In this time, your brows may peel, flake and feel itchy. DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK - it may cause scarring! You may think they even disappeared altogether - please don’t panic (this is due to the new skin forming over the scabbed area). The color will emerge again. Week 4 is where natural exfoliation has happened and the true color emerges.
